Necropolis - Warrior's Tomb Mausoleum

The Necropolis was one of the levels I worked on from early layout tests all the way to shipping it.
It was one of the first levels I started working when joining the project and I was happy to be afforded to freedom to research and help create a visual identity that attempted to make use of a lot of information from the real world while still supporting the narrative and gameplay direction.

This gallery focuses on the Warrior’s Tomb Mausoleum. It is one of the main landmark spaces within the level and it hosts the ‘’bulldozer crash’’ cutscene.
My responsibilities included early blockouts and helping with the level design iteration, architectural pass, all environment modeling and material creation, material blending, set dressing, decal pass as well as the final pass of polishing and bug fixing/optimizing the area before shipping.
I will provide links at the bottom of this description to more detailed breakdowns of the modules as well as individual shots with the various assets I have built for this space.

The far wall is essentially the main monument within the room and it is meant to celebrate Augur the Giant, a crusade leader.
Within the cutscene, several secondary components of that wall get destroyed and eventually, at the end of it, more or less the top third gets smashed in by a crashing bulldozer.
Big thanks to Eduardo Galo, who created all the destruction based on the models that I have provided. It was a blast working with him on this set-piece despite the tight deadline we had when building it.
