These are the assembled sculpts that made up the elevator platform for the final boss in the Order of Giants DLC.

The way I approached this asset was to blockout the platform in Modo and identify/plan the repeating parts.
Then I sculpted these parts and used them to build the platform which was aprox. 12.5m in diameter.
In the third and second to last shot in the gallery, you can see a close up and an overall image of the different parts used. Next to these, I have used a wood plank tile to bridge the space between the areas where the sculpted parts were used.

One additional thing I can mention, and also one of the contributing factors to which I chose this way of building the platform, was that we knew that at the end of the game, this platform would collapse and would be fractured in the process. So before starting, together with Eduardo Galo who was in charge of the collapse simulation, we decided to ensure that we would build this asset as close as possible to how it would have been build in reality, specifically, from unique / seperated, watertight meshes. In this way, we would not only match the visual quality we aimed for but also ensure that when the collapse and breaking of the platform would occur, it would fracture in a natural way and hold up when seen from close range.
