Mithraeum

The Mithraeum was one of the levels I worked on during the production of the Order of Giants DLC.
I worked on this level from the early blockout stage all the way to shipping it.

This gallery focuses on the Mithraeum areas I worked on.
Early on my responsibility for this area was to take an initial pass made by the level designers and the level architects and try to find context to some of the spaces as well as change the entrance section to bring it closer to the real Mithraeum that exists in real life, in Rome.
Once that was done, I did the architectural pass, all the environment modeling and most of the material creation, material blending, set dressing, decal pass as well as the final pass of polishing and bug fixing/optimizing the area before shipping.
The team I worked next to on arting this level included Sophie Innes, Ilya Vasilenko and Daniel Robson on environment art, as well as Florian Zender on the VFX side and Juan Ocamica on the lighting side.
The turnaround for this area, as well as for the DLC in general was very short so for the environment art inside this level, we all reused quite heavily assets I originally created for the Necropolis during the main game production which we repurposed for this space.
